"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Martin Luther King Jr.
This is still a dream of many people in our nation. No matter what color someone is in today’s society, a person is typically judged by what they look like, how much money is in the bank, how famous he or she is, and what car one drives. Unfortunately, it seems as though what is on the surface is what is important, and taking the time to become a decent human being is put to the wayside. Hard-working, honest, trustworthy people rarely make the news headlines. Whether people agree with all of Martin Luther King Junior’s teachings and ideas, most are in agreement that many people in our country are lacking in character and moral values. It is the responsibility of parents, teachers, and adults to teach and model good moral character. Hopefully, sooner than later, his dream can be made a reality.
